Rose Disher-Vocalist
Rose Disher has been singing with cousins Douglas Duncan and Chuck Crank for nearly twenty-five years now. Mother to four loving children, grandmother to five and great grandmother to the newest addition to their family, Rose found the Lord along side of her husband of more than forty years, Charles Disher Sr. Beginning her singing ministry with the help and influence of her Uncle Tommy Crank (with whom she recorded as a featured vocalist on the CD entitled “The Tommy Crank Trio”).

Rose soon found her voice to be her blessing to all of those that would hear her sing. By the early nineteen eighties she wold join Doug and Chuck, adding her signature vocals forming the gospel trio Kindred for Christ. “I just want to thank the Lord for his countless blessings on me and my family. Even when times may have seemed the hardest, God has always been with us, keeping us safe and being my provider. I just pray to be able to continue in his will”. A licensed minister, Rose enjoys travelling in her home area of Miami Valley Ohio visiting senior homes, shut-ins, hospitals and local Churches.

Charles Crank-Bass/Vocals
Charles Crank or "Chucky" as his friends and family call him has been singing and playing gospel music with his family ever since he can remember. Second youngest of five children born to Reverend Tommy crank and his first wife Irma, Chuck was soon to develop a sincere interest in music that would last a lifetime. Chuck began by playing snare drum for his Daddy's Bluegrass Gospel group and gradually moved up to bass guitar before he had reached his teens. Soon Chuck was in demand for studio work and performance sets throughout his hometown of Middletown, Ohio. Playing and recording with several legendary gospel artists and groups within the tri-sate area including his Daddy’s own group, The Gospel Mountaineers. One group or another would call on the young bass player from time to time creating even more of an interest in broadening his style and playing ability with every chance he’d get to play.

Working with such a variety of groups Chuck became even more interested the various styles of Gospel music that were growing more popular at that time. He found himself really enjoying the sounds of the “contemporary or southern gospel” sound that was being performed by such groups as the Hinsons and others, far from the bluegrass gospel that he was raised on. After his mother’s death in 1977, Chuck began working with two of his cousins (Rose Disher and Douglas Duncan) which eventually became the trio Kindred for Christ. Rose sang lead, Doug played piano and Chuck played the bass. For several years the trio played everywhere they could, retirement homes, birthday parties, Church functions and with his Daddy whenever Tommy would need the trio to back him up.

Even now, decades later, Chuck remains a valid third of Kindred for Christ as well as one fourth of a relatively new quartet, “The Crank Family” singing along with his baby brother George and cousins, Gary Crank and Dusty Bowman. Chuck is still hard at work for the Lord, right where he intends to be until the Lord calls him to do otherwise.

Douglas Duncan-Piano /Vocals
I began serving the Lord as a young child (13 yrs old) after suffering a horrible illness that placed me in the hospital twice as a lad. There isn’t enough room to express or words to convey how much I love the Lord for his GRACE (unmerited favor) and the MERCY he has shown me throughout my life!

I know that God has a “plan” for Kindred for Christ and I want to always be in HIS WILL!!! I am so blessed to be a small part of this group. I know that when we truly lift up JESUS’ name, we’ll be doing HIS WILL! In a song that Sister Rose sings “My Mountain”, there’s a line that says so much: “I know as a human I am so weak, but in HIS WORD he promises that HIS STRENGTH IS MADE PERFECT THROUGH OUR WEAKNESS”. I thank God everyday that he truly understands and knows all about us and amazingly, he still loves us.

No matter how high the mountain or low the valley, I know that God will bring me through if I keep my faith in him and look to him. It is only when I take my eyes off the Master that I begin to sink as Peter did on the Sea of Galilee.

Please keep Kindred for Christ in your daily prayers, that no matter where we go, no matter what we do, we remember that without HIM we are NOTHING, but through HIM we can do ALL THINGS!

Thank you for taking time to get to know a little about Kindred for Christ through our bios. We’d like to invite all of you to join us at any of our engagements in the up coming year and enjoy the songs of WORSHIP and PRAISE!
